saturdays at portimão fresh produce market

 

Starting next Saturday, the 18th, the Organic Grocery will be at Portimão Fresh Produce Market, in the fresh fruit and vegetables area, with certified organic produce.

 

The experiment will be on for a few weeks and it may well become permanent depending on its success.

 

The Organic Grocery is having a new point of sale for its Algarve resident and visiting Customers, adding to the home deliveries service and the warehouse opening days, in Companheira, Portimão, on Thursdays and Fridays from 3 to 7pm.

The Organic Grocery is joining the 5th edition of the Organic Week – Organic Farming National Week, promoted by Interbio and that will be on from the 18th to the 28th November countrywide.

The aim is once again to contribute to promote in a positive way the organic farming and its products next to the Consumer.

This year’s topic will be the “Biodiversity Year”. In a moment when we assist to a quick reduction in the agricultural production and consequently of the biodiversity, the adoption of the organic farming as a main production resource in Portugal, is indeed a way to ensure the preservation of the biodiversity thus contributing to a more sustainable earth.

Diring the Organic Week we will be promoting the following initiatives:
-      50% discount in the delivery tax for the orders delivered outside the Algarve, that we receive between the 18th and the 28th November;
-      10% discount in all products purchased in our warehouse, in Portimão, on Thursdays and Fridays from 3 to 7pm, except for the products that are already on a promotion;
-      100% Organic Menu for lunch at the Naturalmente Restaurant, in Loulé, Friday, the 26th November;
-      organic products tasting on Thursdays and Fridays from 3 to 7pm, at our warehouse, in Portimão.

The Eating Out Organic Project aims at promoting the organic food products, for an healthier and well balanced diet and for a better and more sustainable environment, thus associating the Algarve to an healthier lifestyle.

The Catering Industry is the chosen channel to reach this aim. The awareness of the lack of specific offer for organic food in the Algarve Restaurants made us come forward with the idea to create an opportunity for dinning out a fully organic menu, where the Consumer may be assured to get a meal exclusively composed by all organic food ingredients.

Pursuing this aim the Organic Grocery brought together 3 Algarve Restaurants that will together launch the “Eating Out Organic Project”, introducing from May, on a weekly basis, the 100% Organic Menus.

The Project ground is to make available to the Final Consumer at least once a week an organic meal that can be taken dinning out in one of the Partner Restaurants.

The Restaurants will be holding additional activities to promote the organic food products.

We highlight, amongst these activities, the organic food tastings associated to specific Producers and introducing new Producers, season menus cooked based in each specific season products, wine tastings and wine dinners with the presence of organic Wine Makers, the launching of new products, eco friendly events, organic farming workshops, prior to the meals, are some of the possibilities that we will be looking into to promote the organic food products, producers and organic farming methods.

Each Restaurant may also add up to each 100% Organic Menu other events such as exhibitions, entertainment, cooking classes or other cultural demonstrations, adequate to each meal.

The 100% Organic Menus will be presented every Friday and the Menus will be designed by each Restaurant according to their gastronomic identity.

The Partner Restaurants will also have available 100% Organic Menus for parties and groups with prior booking.

The Eating Out Organic Project 2010 will last until the end of November.

In the Organic Grocery website we will have all the updated information about the Project, Menus and Partner Restaurants.

back FATACIL 2010

The Organic Grocery will be at the 31st edition of FATACIL (handicraft, tourism, agriculture, trade and industry fair), that will be exhibiting from the 20th to the 29th August in Lagoa.

Our stand will be located in the Agriculture and Cattle breeding área, close to the horse field and next to the cattle exhibition área..
We will be exhibiting new products and we will have promotions and product tastings.

In the last day of the fair we will be having a draw for Organic Baskets and 100% Organic Menus, to be taken in the Restaurants that are in the Eating Out Organic Project.
When visiting the fair fill in your coupon to enter the draw.

The fair opening schedule will be from 4pm to 1am except for the 20th when the fair will only be opening at 6pm.

FATACIL 2009

Fatacil 2009

After celebrating its 2nd anniversary the Organic Grocery is going to exhibit at Fatacil for the 3rd consecutive year.

We will be having lots of news in our stand that will be located in the Agriculture and Cattle marquee, next to the “Picadeiro” and animal exhibition area.


We will be having an online order demonstration on the new online shop version, where the Visitors will be also having the opportunity to place a test order to see how simple this process can be.


We will have all the new products we have been launching and a few more that we kept especially for Fatacil.

This year we will also have fresh fruit and vegetables in our stand, as well as all the refrigerated range of products.

We will be offering 100% Organic Menus, to promote the Eating Out Organic Project, on a draw that will take place on the 30th of August. There will also be the organic food and drinks usual tastings going on in our stand.

The Organic Grocery will be offering entries to Fatacil to all orders placed online between the 21st and the 29th August. For orders that exceed €50 we will be giving one entry and for orders of over €100 we will be giving 2 entries. These offers require validation by sending us an e-mail requesting the entries and referring to the order name and date.

Plenty of good reasons for a visit to our stand at Fatacil!

4th Natural Parks and Environment Fair
9th to the 12th July 2009

On the 9th of July starts the 4th edition of the Natural Parks and Environment Fair, that will take place In Olhão, at the Jardim Pescador Olhanense till the 12th July.

The Organic Grocery will be there, exhibiting, and we will be having daily tastings of Organic products in our stand.

The Fair is organized by Olhão City Council in Association with the Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e da Biodiversidade (ICNB). It gathers all the Portuguese protected areas, representations of national natural parks and protected areas from other countries, as well as some of the most prominent organizations that develop their activities around the sustained development protecting the environment.

The Fair opening hours will be from 6 pm to midnight from Thursday to Sunday.

Ruralidades Silves 2009

The RURALIDADES Silves 2009 – Tourism, Agriculture, Handicraft, Traditional Cuisine and Adventure Fair – will take place in Silves between the coming 30th April and the 3rd May.

The fair will Visitors a Picture of the natural beauty, traditions and culture of the inner regions of the Algarve, still undiscovered and pretty much alive.

The Organic Grocery will be there exhibiting and, as usual, we will be having, organic product tastings and new products that will be launched in the fair.

The event will take place at FISSUL in Silves, and the opening hours are:

  30th April 6-11pm;
  1st May, 10am-11pm;
  2nd May, 10am–11pm;
  3rd May, 10am-11pm.

4th spring meeting at the herdade do freixo do meio

Starting in the year 2006, the Spring Meeting at the Herdade do Freixo do Meio, is now a tradition. With over 2000 visitors coming from different Regions in Portugal, the Herdade do Freixo do Meio, provides a woderful day at Nature’s Rythm.

Making available activities for all ages, ateliers for Children, walks and cycling within the Herdade, the 4th international shepard dogs championship, the second exhibition with solutions for a more sustainable world, demonstration of the wool process and how wool is taken from sheep, cultural projects, local artists and our excelent traditional cuisine, exclusively made of organic ingredients produced in the Herdade.

There will also be selling of products made from acorn, launching of the Zebro and Fazenda dos Ramos organic wines, book and other Sales áreas.

Be a Guest of the Herdade and make your own pic-nic in the Montado Alentejano.

Back launching of our new website

The Organic Grocery has celebrated the launching of the new website and online shop with a Cocktail and organic food products tasting.

The event, coorganized by Bukrs, Partner in charge of the development and maintenance of the online platform took place on the 2nd of April at our warehouse in Companheira, Portimão.

At the event we had the Customers from Bukrs and the Organic Grocery, Suppliers, Friends, Partners, Institutional Guests, and the Regional Press.

We leave some of the photos captured during the launching of the new website, where Guests were invited to test the new applications, in the PCs we had available in the warehouse.

O novo site foi colocado online ontem à hora a que teve início o Cocktail. A Bukrs, de Portimão, é o Parceiro responsável pelo desenvolvimento da plataforma web da Mercearia Bio e da integração deste com o software de Gestão (ERP) da PHC.

A apresentação do site serviu de pretexto para dar a provar alguns dos produtos que a Mercearia Bio distribui para o Algarve - fiambres e linguiça da Herdade do Freixo do Meio, morangos do Produtor Alcides Henoch, Sumos de Maçã e Uva, da Sumbi, enchidos de porco preto da Montanheira, vinhos da Quinta do Montalto, Pasta de azeitona da Tapada da Tojeira, Chutney de tomate da Casta Lusa, queijos da Qual, entre outros.

A Bukrs disponibilizou diversos computadores com acesso ao novo site da Mercearia Bio, para que o Convidados pudessem "estrear-se" no site.

O espaço a partir do qual a Mercearia Bio efectua toda a distribuição foi o local escolhido para a apresentação da nova loja online.
