We will be opening up our warehouse in Portimão Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 6.30pm, starting on the 3rd of October, except for Bank Holidays.
We will be having fresh produce delivered daily starting with Algarve produce arriving Monday early morning.
The access to the warehouse is very easy. For Customers coming from outside the city of Portimão they will not need to enter the city, Companheira, where we are located, is just by the entrance of Portimão, very close to the Barlavento Hospital.
As for the Portimão residents who are willing to come by bus the “Vai e Vem” line that comes to Companheira is the Grená one.

farmers organic box
The Organic Grocery is now launching the Farmer’s Organic Box. The challenge came from one of the Producers with whom we work regularly, Fátima from Quinta das Seis Marias, in Lagos.
The Farmer’s Organic Box includes only the fresh produce grown at Fátima’s farm. The variety is therefore limited to the products that are available in the farm each week.
The approximate weight of the box is 8kgs and the selling price €15, inclusive of VAT. There is no delivery cost in the Algarve and the normal delivery taxes apply for orders from the rest of the country, following the normal delivery routes scheme.
And because it is a local Producer we guarantee that the produce delivered, for Customers in the Algarve, is picked the day before the delivery.
The order of the box can be placed through the online shop, by e-mail or by phone, preferably till 1pm Mondays.

an organic basket to match your budget!
The Organic Grocery is launching a new service – an organic basket to match your budget!
We propose to deliver to your place, every week, an organic fruit and vegetables basket, with the freshest possible ingredients available every week.
The amount and variety of the fruits and vegetables that are to be delivered will be according to the amount chosen. We have made available 3 sets of baskets with three price levels:
- Small Pumpkin Basket - €20,00 to €25,00;
- Medium Pumpkin Basket - €30,00 to €35,00;
- Large Pumpkin Basket - €40,00 to €45,00.
The service provided is aimed at managing the selected amount by choosing the freshest ingredients, in season, that are complementary and assorted, thus creating a basket that can be used for an healthy diet: with vegetables for salads, for garnishing dishes, or as a main ingredient on vegetarian dishes, soups, aromatic herbs and fresh fruit to eat every day.
We can also create an organic basket tailor made for you, based on a larger budget and including other products, such as meat, dairy, juices, cereals, cold meats, bakery, or any other products.
The cost of the products used will also be our concern. We will look for the best value for money and quality products.
Should there be any products you do not wish to receive you can mail us that information or let us know your preferences for each week, as long as the information is sent to us until 1pm every Monday. By doing so you will be helping us to create a list of the products you prefer.
To subscribe this service all you have to do is to access our online shop and follow these steps:
1 – select the organic baskets family;
2 – select the basket you wish to receive every week;
3 – confirm the order, following all steps and registering yourself – if you are already a registered customer you do not need to register again;
4 – you will receive an e-mail with the confirmation of the week day and schedule in which your organic basket will be delivered.
The day and scheduled hours for the delivery of the basket will remain, unless the Organic Grocery introduces any changes to the distribution routes or if there are any changes on your address.
To suspend temporarily the service, for any reason, all you have to do is send us an e-mail indicating the week or weeks in which you do not want to receive the organic basket.
If you wish to stop the service just send us an e-mail with that information, no need to justify your decision.
For both cases the e-mail should be sent to us before 1pm Monday, to be considered in that same week.
With this new service our aim is to make it easier to receive organic fresh products for People who simply do not have the time or who do not wish to worry about the weekly order.
Now it is even easier to have organic food delivered to your place!

The Organic Grocery has available a selection of Organic meat to order from the online shop. The organic beef and lamb are from cattle bred in the pastures of Alentejo.
As for organic poultry we have regularly available chicken, guinea fowl and duck, bred in the region of Cadaval.
In the festive seasons, Christmas and Easter, we have kid, turkey and goose.
We have also available a selection of organic cold meat.
Soon we will be also having black pork from Alentejo and rabbit.
Please contact us if need any particular kind of organic meat or a specific cut.

On Holidays in the Algarve? Eat Organic!
Now you have the full range of organic food available in the Algarve.
The Organic Grocery has available a weekly home delivery service of certified organic food. The range of products includes fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy, natural juices, wines and all sorts of dry grocery, for an healthy well balanced diet.
The orders can be placed through the online shop in the Organic Grocery’s website www.merceariabio.pt, which has recently been renovated.
And why not order right from the airport or while driving, by phone?
The order will then be delivered, with no delivery charge nor minimum order, wherever you are in the Algarve.
You can also visit the Organic Grocery’s warehouse, in Portimão, open on Thursday and Friday from 3 to 7 pm.

FATACIL 2010 - Our warehouse will be closed for the weeks starting on the 16th and 23rd August due to our participation in Fatacil.
We will be reopening on the 2nd of September
The home deliveries service will remain with no changes.
